The band is known for their hardcore progressive rock and roll style, but their influences range across the cutting-edge spectrum of decades from the past. This unique meshing of style has attracted fans from all over the world, and their concerts are renowned for their intensity and multi-sensory experiences. A look at their history will help explain how Tool came to be one of the biggest draws on the music scene.
Beginnings
Tool came together in late 1989 after the bands future members all coincidentally moved to Los Angeles for different reasons. Bassist Paul d'Amour and guitarist Adam Jones moved to Southern California with aspirations of getting into the film industry. Drummer Danny Carey had always wanted to do just that, and he began to play the drums for such acts as Carole King. The lead singer, Maynard James Keenan, moved to Los Angeles to start a career in interior design.
Happenstance and random introductions brought them together, and the four men decided to jam together. They soon discovered that their respective influences came together for a unique sound, and they began to play in local clubs with much success. The members musical inspirations included such acts as Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Pink Floyd and Rush, among others.
Tools early local recognition and the corresponding demand for Tool tickets at small venues led to bigger and better things. By 1991 best headphones, Tool was touring with such name acts as the Rollins Band How_Does_the_Camera_Auto_Focus_Work_and_Why_Sometimes_It_Fails_, Fishbone, and Rage Against The Machine. This publicity led to a recording contract coach sunglasses, and the band began to hit the studio to produce albums.
Commercial Success
Tool released their first EP, Opiate, which was partially inspired by a famous quote from Karl Marx. The release was a success, but the inspiration set the stage for public controversy that followed in subsequent years. Their first full-length album, Undertow followed in 1993, and their sound was instantly recognized as a powerful, heavy release that was unlike any other music being distributed on the mainstream market at the time.
The success of Undertow led to the band being invited to play on the Lollapalooza tour that same year, and the bands engaging shows led to them being moved from a side stage to the main stage at many performances. The crowds at these shows reacted wildly to their on-stage style, and a new name band was born.
Since that time, Tool has released four additional albums, and all of them have enjoyed commercial success cheap gucci, as the band has stayed true to their original sound. They have sold millions of copies of their cuts around the world, and their name is recognized by music fans everywhere. However, the ride hasnt been completely smooth.
Controversy
Tools act has drawn attention from protestors, and many of them appear at their tour stops with picket signs chanting slogans. The reason for this controversy is Tools artistic insistence on pushing the envelope with their lyrics, messages and even their videos and album covers. Even MTV refused to play the single entitled Stinkfist after it was released due to the sexual overtones of the title.
The protestors tend to be Christians and those who oppose Marxism How_To_Sing_From_The_Diaphragm, and their diligence in regards to staging these protests is surprising. Regardless louis vuitton shoe, Tool has refused to alter their approach, and Tool tickets remain a big draw due not only to their talent, but also to their belief in their artistic integrity.

So much information, so little time! Don't worry, you're not alone...
I used to get totally overwhelmed by my guitar book collection. I used to pick up a book and not really know where to start. I usually would play around with a book for a week or two, and then move onto another book...even when I hadn't mastered what I had learnt from the book. End result? Find a guitar book that you would like to work on. Read the front and back covers only. What are some things that you think the book might help you with? Please write these down now.
***Step Two: Define Your Purpose***
Have a quick think about your musical goals. With your goals in mind, write down your purpose for studying the book. What EXACTLY would you like to get from the book? Make it specific. If you feel that the book is not totally relevant to your goals right now coach shoes, then DON'T study it. It will be a waste of your valuable time. Instead, find another book that is more relevant.
***Step Three: Preview The Book***
Read the table of contents. As you read it, ask yourself..."What ONE section of this book will help me the most with my current musical goals?". Once you've finished reading the table of contents clothes mens, choose the ONE section that you feel will help you the most.

Once you've read through the whole section, choose the ONE thing in it that you think will help you the most. It could be a specific lick Josh_Groban__A_Singer_With_A_Different_Sound, theoretical concept, chord progression etc. The idea is to choose the one thing that will benefit your guitar playing the most. Life is too short to practice things that aren't INCREDIBLY important to your musical development!
***Step Five: Get To Work***
Practice the thing that you chose in Step Four. Practice it like a maniac! Really work hard to integrate it into your playing or knowledge. Keep working on it daily until you feel that you have mastered it.Depending on what you chose, this could take hours, days handbags outlet, weeks christian louboutins sale, months of even years!
I hope you find this method works for you. Dust off those books now, and get to work!

I recently had an email question posed to me from my site that asked me what I thought was the most successful ?Blue Group?? (I have narrowed it down to the word "blue" in the beginning of the band name)
I can only say with such an eclectic list of choices that you would have to narrow it down to what type of music is being played by the group Adirondack_Furniture___Dress_Your_Patio_In_Classic_Style, how you define success and of course, personal preference.
If you are looking for a hard-rock group, you have several selections, including Blue Cheer, a 60's group that some refer to as one of the first heavy metal bands. Their hit, a remake of Eddie Cochran?s ?Summertime Blues? spent ten weeks on the American Billboard Top 40, peaking at number 14 in 1968. Even with numerous personnel changes burberry sunglasses, San Francisco?s Blue Cheer was able to release several breakthrough and influential albums.
However, if you are looking for commercial success and longevity, one could argue that Blue Oyster Cult, another hard-rock/heavy metal band could top that list. In 1972, with their self named debut album, Blue Oyster Cult combined the elements of hard-rock and intense touring to pave the way for their upcoming success. In 1976, they broke through to the mainstream arena and FM radio with the album ?Agents Of Fortune? that included their biggest hit best walking shoes, the classic and infectious ?Don?t Fear The Reaper.? Blue Oyster Cult proved that they were more than a one-hit wonder with more than fourteen albums to their credit.
Furthermore, if you a looking for one of the top ?blues? blue albums coach belts, there are several in that realm. The Blues Brothers (formed by Saturday Night Live alumni?s Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi) rode the success of an SNL skit and with many superstar musicians scored several top 40 hits including ?Soul Man.? Blues Traveler, with singer/harmonica virtuoso John Popper are known as a ?blues jam Band? with strong improvisional skills and their top hit ?Run-Around,? one of the biggest singles in 1995.
The Blues Project, a group formed in 1965 by guitarist Danny Kalb and Steve Katz, was one of the first ?underground? groups in the US cheap gucci, mixing rock/blues/pop and folk; they compiled a couple of eclectic and revolutionary albums in the mid 60's.
But if you are looking for the definitive blues album by a blues band, John Mayall?s Blues Breakers (with Eric Clapton) provide the perfect example of a blues and boogie combination extraordinarily played by the astonishing Clapton.
The psychedelic music genre is well represented with the Bronx-based Blues Magoos who charted in 1967 with ?(We Ain?t Got) Nothing Yet.? Throughout their short career they rode the psychedelic era horse and played a mixture of infectious rock and roll and unrelenting garage rock.
A largely unknown blue band ?Blue Things? was able to mix their Byrdesque folk and energetic pop rock to become a regional success in the Midwest and Texas. Despite a national record contract with RCA, they remain one of the better examples of the mid 60's music era that you probably never heard of.
A group from Toronto, Canada named Blue Rodeo has drawn comparisons to the Beatles/Dylan with smooth harmonies and rootsy folk rock, they are certainly worth a listen if you like alternative country rock.
Other blue groups include Blue Nile 7_Ways_to_Grow_Flowers, formed in 1981 in Glasgow, Scotland, were highly praised for their dreamy-pop sound. The Blue Ridge Rangers gets a mention merely because of the iconic John Fogerty, who released an album under that name (even though, technically the group was just Fogerty playing all the instruments), that although was not a huge commercial success, proved he belonged as one of the top performers in rock and roll.
?Ride Captain Ride? was a top 40 hit in 1972 for Blues Image, a rock group that featured Mike Pinera (who later joined Iron Butterfly). Blue Magic, an R & B vocal group from Philadelphia scored two top ten hits in 1974. Additionally, a group named Blue Haze, a reggae group from England secured a top 40 hit in 1972 with the song ?Smoke Gets In Your Eyes.?
Now, I may not have completely answered the email question, I think that is up to personal preference and taste. But I will give you an opinion of the worst song by a blue group. That distinction belongs to Blue Swede and the remake of the song ?Hooked On A Feeling,? a hit in 1974, complete with the sickening and dreaded ?OOGA Chacka? lyric added to the song.
